I started www.share-your-story.co.uk because so many of the people I come across in my day-to-day work as a journalist and PR consultant have fascinating stories to tell, good practice to spread and learning to share.  They know they have something really valuable to contribute - and want to get their voice heard in the professional and business press - but they don't know how to go about it.

Small businesses and consultancies often ask me to 'do' their PR for them.  While I can and frequently do help with editorial work and small-scale PR projects, my experience is that it's just not feasible for most independent practitioners to retain the services of a PR consultant on an on-going basis.   They need to learn the tools and techniques that will enable them to do it themselves - so they can continue to build their reputation and profile over the long term.

Through my workshops and mentoring, I aim to debunk some of the commonly held myths and misconceptions about working with the media and help people gain the confidence they need to build on-going and productive relationships with journalists. 

I've worked as a local newspaper news editor, a features writer for professional and management press and a business-to-business PR consultant.  I know what works - and what doesn't - and I'd like to share the knowledge and experience I have gained to help you raise your professional profile and secure your share of voice in the printed and on-line press.
